Sundar C's 25th movie. He took extreme care in maintaining the tempo and the core of the movie. None other than comedy. It has resulted so hilarious, houseful and laughter theaters where ever the movie was released.
Now Tamil movie industry is moving from gangster genre of movies to comedy movies. Where every body right from the movie crew, distributors and audience are happy. This was proven by the latest products and their success. And this is another comedy movie. But this time from an expert in his own style.
Usually Sundar C movies will have mainstream story with comic eclair style screenplay. Except this movie, where there is nothing to do much with the story, since it is an inspiration from German movie soul kitchen.
He has done few customization in the screen play to suit Tamil audience. And the result is success.
For first few minutes the movie was still at the start line, with no major impact on audience. Slowly the story starts its pace and when Siva enters we could feel the 'gear shift'. There starts the laughter. I should say this was just 10% of the movie experience till interval.
The second half, Santhanam enters and theater explodes in laughing. I literally laughed louder after very very long time. When you come out of cinema hall, you will have greater feeling of relief. (Later you have to resume to your own sucking life :p)
The movie goes like a comedy drama, story revolving around the 'Masala Cafe', a family run generations old hotel. Interactions between characters provide scope for comedy and the director has used it to the maximum.
Music by Vijay Ebinezar. I should say, on the whole it was very average. And for sure worst ever album in Sudar C's movie portfolio. May be has decided that not to concentrate on music this time. Background score sounds were ridiculous some times, like I was watching Tom & Jerry show. That could be little more mature. Songs didn't even enter my ears. Only wrong technician chosen for this movie was the Music director.
Sundar C is well know to experiment glamor with homely heroins. In the past few like Meena was over exposed. This time two Anjali and Oviya are the victims. Glamor more than required for their roles. He may justify with his so called commercial cinema recipe.
I am not sure, if I watch it again it gives me same laughter, even then it is a good movie to watch with your family. Even in climax there is fight and no blood. I really appreciate that.
