Azhwar Thirunagari - Karuda Sevai

The highlight happening of the Namaazhwar thiru avathara naksatra thiruvizha is Nava thirupathi Gauruda Sevai. All perumal has already arrived at Azhwarthirunagari this morning.(http://dickilona.blogspot.in/2013/05/azhwar-thirunagari-mangalasasanam.html). And its time for them to go on veethi ulla to bless the bakkthas in Gauruda vahanam.

After pradhakshana inside Sri Aadhi nathar temple, and listening to Sri Velukudi Krishnan's kalakshebam we all assembled before the temple entrance for the seva at 11.30 PM on 19th May 2013.

Arround 12 AM Namaazhwar appeared in Hamsavahanam.

Once Swamy Namaazhwar took his position, along with him all of us are ready to dharshan Nava-thirupathi perumal one by one in Gauruda vahana

After the dharshan of all Nava thirupathi perumal, Vaghulabaranan(one who wears garland of vaghula/magizham flowers) Namaazhwar is delighted.

Perumal the supremacy, who comes to call of a baktha. See how he has lined up for thiru veethi ula to bless who ever prays him. (@1.30 AM)

This ustavam was crowded so that I could able to move only my hands. Otherwise packed fully in crowd, drenched in sweat. I didn't felt it till all perumal appeared for dharshan. But it shows in the pictures. That is the reason few of the pictures are shaky and few of them are sneak-peak. So my sincere apologies. 

Azhwar Thirunagari - Mangalasasanam

Namaazhwar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nammalvar) an important and foremost considered among the 12 alwars in Sri Vaishnavam. He was born in Alwar Thirunagari Village in the banks of River Thamirabarani (Porunnai nathi). 

The festival of birth star Visakam in the tamil month Vaigasi at Sri Aathinatha Swamy Temple in Alwarthirunagari is one of the important festival in vaishnavam. The most popular Nava-thirupathi sthalam. 

I was blessed to be there to witness the Mangalasasanam, which happened last Sunday (19th May 2013)

Mangalasasanam:

Its the praising of alwars in form of hymn or verses in Tamil. 108 Dhivya desams in India has one or more mangalasasanam sung by Alwars.  

Specialty of Namaazhwar:

Rest of 11 Alwars visited physically to other vishnu temples and sang hymns. But divya prabantham sung by  Namaazhwar was from his own place. He never visited any other temple. It is believed that all divya desam perumal comes to Namaazhwar and get them praised.

On this day, Perumal from Nava-thirupathi comes to Namaazhwar's place to get them praised.
